About Alejandra

Alejandra was born amidst Central America's civil war turmoil. Her experiences growing up with severe economic limitations, earthquakes, hurricanes, and social conflicts led her to get involved in humanitarian aid initiatives and promote systemic changes in Central America, Spain, and the United States, where she has lived since 2017.

She has been involved in over 130 initiatives, where she has served in capacities ranging from volunteer to founder. She has designed and implemented projects of institutions like Vital Voices, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Organization of American States (OAS), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the European Union. Most recently, she founded Embraved Inc., a nonprofit organization based in the US that uplifts refugees by offering support and resources. Alejandra advises refugee-led organizations, nonprofits, and States on humanitarian aid, human rights, peacebuilding, root causes of migration, durable solutions, and meaningful refugee participation. Recently, she co-designed the US Refugee Advisory Board.

Her academic credentials include two master's degrees—one in Management for NGOs from ESADE Business School, Spain, and another in Fundraising from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain. Additionally, she has acquired a Certificate in Global Displacement and Migration from Georgetown University and a Certificate in Leadership, Organizing, and Action from Harvard Kennedy School.
